THE MISSION: Anticipatory logistics at scale. Technology that senses the world, works for you, and finally frees your hands from the device. The ultimate ZERO FRICTION delivery experience.

Led an AR wearable phygital platform design from its inception as a North Star storyboard into a fully realized design initiative spanning two distinct organizations.

THE PROBLEM SPACE: The Cognitive Cost of Hyper Growth, we cannot simply throw more bodies & tools at the operation. The true operational catalyst is to up-value, up-skill, and future-proof our frontline workforce.

The 'Last 100 Yards' is the most chaotic segment of any delivery, and internal data proves it is the single biggest driver of transporter attrition. As delivery volumes aggressively spike and the industry rapidly evolves into high-speed commerce, solving this friction at scale has become a critical business mandate. It is essential for optimizing operational performance, ensuring driver safety, reducing cognitive load through predictive automation, and ultimately improving workforce retention.

THE JOURNEY 1: The road to disrupt our own legacy through resilience > From major setback to a clear baseline.

Our journey began with a clear vision: a "Head Up, Eyes On the World" phygital experience. While exploring a wide range of wearable form factors, a critical safety incident became our definitive turning point. It forced me to lead a strategic reset of our initial hypotheses, anchoring the entire initiative to a non-negotiable baseline: because time is the ultimate safety currency in high-stakes logistics, our product had to deliver uncompromising safety first, followed by seamless comfort, or we wouldn't ship it.

THE JOURNEY 2: THE JOURNEY: The most unlikely location for a pilot deployment and the Catalyst to big funding.

Once the baseline was established, I redefined a completely new safety framework. Rooted in field-of-view anatomy and depth-of-field theory, it redefined the standard for AR safeguards. I championed a controversial pivot: deliberately selecting a less ergonomic form factor to ruthlessly prioritize operational safety over immediate comfort. To stress-test this strategy, I pushed the team to pilot the deployment in the extreme, 105°F summer heat of Dallas in 2023. This rigorous, ground-truth validation allowed us to fail fast, lock in a definitive phygital system architecture, and ultimately secure a $1XX million investment to scale this visionary tool for the delivery associates.

THE JOURNEY 3: The Amazon Alliance and Architecting a bran new Zero-to-One wearable platform design.

The funding milestone catalyzed a massive strategic partnership between Amazon Devices and Last Mile. Stepping into a high-level orchestration role, I directed a multidisciplinary coalition—unifying Industrial Design, UX/UI, Design Technologists, Product Management, Human Factors, and Systems Engineering—to architect a zero-to-one hardware and software wearable system from the ground up. We embedded our hard-won Last Mile pilot insights into a rigorous, user-centered process that ultimately defined the system's success. We deployed large-scale pilots across multiple states, overcoming widespread internal skepticism and validating the platform with absolute confidence upon our public announcement. Today, this foundational work serves as a scalable benchmark, with numerous internal teams actively seeking to adopt our solution for their own operations.

TRANSPORTER ANECDOTES:

"...It was a super smooth day; I genuinely got done about an hour earlier than I normally would. It was highly efficient..." "...I was able to fulfill a lot of stops today, it was a record. I did 1XX stops in X hrs. I normally don't even move close to that..." "...I would choose this over phone every day. I think it is just too efficient to pass up. It's very quick and very professional. It is very good looking and futuristic and cool. Beyond that, it is very beneficial for anyone to use it. reduces strain over the phone..." “…photo on delivery is easier and the scanning is very responsive and what I really like is having information while walking see in front of me…”

A closer Zero-Friction Future
This initiative dismantled a critical bottleneck to our business growth by fundamentally solving the complex inefficiencies of the 'Last 100 Yards.' Beyond reducing attrition and enabling unprecedented scale, we redefined the delivery experience to be completely frictionless: simply grab, go, and drop off. Ultimately, we successfully realized our 'Head Up, Eyes On the World' vision. By architecting a phygital ecosystem that senses the environment exactly as our associates experience it, we have proven this zero-to-one blueprint and are now scaling this capability across other operations.
