THE MISSION: Extend your digital life onto the road. By building a "smartphone on wheels," we transform every ride into a smart connected space, bridging tech silos so you never disconnect from what matters.
Led a global design teams (US & China) to define and launch two flagship product experiences: a smart cockpit driving experience and a fully integrated companion app, shifting the focus from isolated features to a cohesive mobility ecosystem.on-Rivian design partnership, I owned two core pillars: embedded software automation and the phygital in-vehicle experience.

THE PROBLEM SPACE: Modern families live seamless digital and social lives, yet legacy vehicles remain frustratingly disconnected instead of truly smart, integrated living spaces.
Today's families live a connected and seamless digital life, but the moment they enter their car, that experience breaks. They are forced to use clunky, siloed systems that don't know their preferences, turning their daily commute into a source of frustration. The stress doesn't start there. The process of buying and learning a new vehicle involves hours wasted at a dealership, creating a frustrating first impression. The core problem is that cars are still being designed as tools for styled transportation, not as integrated and extended living space. Families need their vehicle to be a smart, intuitive partner that understands their lifestyle, respects their time, and transforms a stressful drive into an opportunity for connection and enjoyment.

This fluid UX system architecture is the foundation of our SHARING experience design, empowering users with absolute control over their data across multiple modalities. Through rigorous cross-functional iteration and shared learnings, we successfully delivered an interaction system that is intuitive, deeply trusted, and securely anchored in safety.

This fluid UX system architecture is the foundation of our SHARING experience design, empowering users with absolute control over their data across multiple modalities. Through rigorous cross-functional iteration and shared learnings, we successfully delivered an interaction system that is intuitive, deeply trusted, and securely anchored in safety.

A deep understanding of the product, the physical environment, and human behavior allowed us to define the precise metrics that drive our smart cockpit. The 48-inch Digital Lounge screen enabled unprecedented digital social experiences, but it required a stringent safety framework that went beyond existing industry standards. To solve this, I directed the research and design teams to pioneer and validate a completely new set of measurable safety metrics. Ultimately, this data-driven framework became the foundational blueprint that successfully shaped our Physical Interaction System, Content Strategy, and core UX Architecture.

Establishing Rigorous Safety & Ergonomic Baselines:Eyes on the road when driving. * Rapid-Reach Controls: All frequently used primary controls must fall within a strict 0.25-second hand-reach zone for the driver. * Cognitive Focus: All critical driving information must be anchored in the primary "Eyes on the Road" view zone, ensuring a maximum 0.25-second visual transition to the controls. To uphold these non-negotiable standards and directed the team through a rigorous, iterative testing process. The ultimate 'why' behind this data was to build absolute user trust. Allowing driver, passengers to enjoy the ride and connect with loved ones with complete peace of mind.

Our approach was validated by the press during the CES demo ride. As The Verge noted (commenting on the screen's lack of distraction): "...After spending a couple of minutes in the car, I can understand how [you can] literally look past it..."
